Purpose built electric reel safety controller.

You can either use the push button located on the safety controller, or the dead-man switch on the remote control to start the reel spooling in. The controller gives you the ability to slow the motor down with 4 different speed settings. Without the safety controller the reel will run at 100% of power all the time. The controller will apply a soft start when intitiating the motor, this allows the reel to gradually build up speed rather than instantly applying full power.

When pulling the hose off the reel you will feel a slight resistant from the motor, this means as soon as you stop pulling on the hose the reel will then stop rotating. Without this feature you can find the reel will still have some rotating momemtum causing the hose to overspool.

If the controller detects a snag within the hose it will instantly cut power to the motor, this has been designed as a safety feature in case anything gets jammed within the reel itself, or in situations when the hose gets snagged onto something.
